EDSI Intern Program 2018
What do you get when you put a Hokie and a Wahoo in the same office for a summer as interns?
It is no secret that the University of Virginia (Wahoos) and Virginia Tech (Hokies) are huge rivals. These two premier universities compete for bragging rights in just about everything they do. When Engineering Design Systems, Inc. hired two marketing interns this summer: DJ Braye, a rising senior in Media Studies at the University of Virginia, and Oliver Meredith, a rising senior double majoring in Marketing and Management at Virginia Tech, the question was:
Can these two young men work as a team to accomplish the task at hand?
The answer is a resounding yes! DJ and Oliver were tasked to produce a professional quality corporate video that conveyed our mission and values to current and potential clients. In a time where we are constantly bombarded with sales messages, we just wanted the marketplace to understand our objectives and what we strive to accomplish as a business partner to our clients. These two impressive young men were able to truly understand our organization and capture our spirit in this video.
It is encouraging to see two young adults striving to get the most they can from life and their education.
In addition to his double major, Oliver is heavily involved in PRISM, the business marketing association at Virginia Tech. He also balanced his schedule this summer with freelance photography, and spending time in the outdoors.
DJ has been just as busy. At UVA, he is a Miller Arts Scholar and Vice President of Alpha Tau Omega. In addition to interning with EDSI, he has split his work time at EDSI with WSET in Lynchburg, Virginia. DJ has really stacked up the experience and strengthened his resume this summer.
We will all miss having DJ and Oliver in the office. They have done great work this summer and will be valuable assets to tomorrow’s workforce!
We hope you enjoy the video and let us know what you think.
