About Us
In July of 2010, EDSI integrated with Hazleton Luzerne County CareerLink and began operating The Employment, Advancement and Retention Network (EARN) program. The EARN program serves the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) population of Luzerne County. The purpose of EARN is to address the needs of welfare and low-income individuals with serious barriers to gaining and maintaining employment. Work activities in EARN include unsubsidized employment, subsidized employment and community service. The office is located within the Hazleton CareerLink and is funded by the Luzerne-Schuylkill Workforce Investment Board.

In 2015, EDSI began operating the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for adults and dislocated workers. This program emphasizes the new WIOA goals of "no sequence of service" for customers and an increased focus on the employer base. Career Pathways Plans, On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Individual Training Accounts (ITA) have been implemented.
