EDSI was chosen as a Detroit Free Press "Top Workplaces 2023" winner, its 9th year of being recognized. EDSI was ranked in the Top 50 for the small business category and presented with their award at a ceremony at the Royal Oak Music Theater. A special thanks to Instructional Systems Designers Eboney Hurt and Ebani Lowery for attending the event.
The event recognized employers that received the most favorable responses on a 24-question survey issued to their employees. There were a total of 6,698 organizations that participated in the survey. EDSI, among the other companies, was recognized for its commitment to prioritizing life-work balance, inspiring its employees, and fostering a healthy work environment.

The Northern Middle TN EDSI team had the opportunity to participate in a re-entry simulation this fall at the Montgomery County AJC. and over 50 participants from various agencies, employers and workforce companies joined the The Department of Labor Office of Re-entry in a simulation of the barriers that justice-involved citizens leaving incarceration may face. Feedback from the event showed a strong request for more simulations like this to be hosted in the future.

The 2023 National winning companies were assessed by an independent research firm
which reviewed a number of key workplace measures relative to other nationally recognized winners.
This is our 14th wining year for the Metro Detroit program and our 12th year for National!
EDSI, in partnership with Garage82, will use $233,662 awarded from a $700,000 investment in Philadelphia by the Department of Commerce to engage employers, re-entry providers, and justice-impacted individuals who have an interest in construction pre-apprenticeship pathways. The goal is to create job placement outcomes that will help participants build economic stability, and launch a career pathway in a growing, high-wage industry. EDSI was among three organizations selected to develop programming funded by the City's Department of Commerce through the new Fair Chance Hiring Workforce Solutions Grant.

EDSI is proud to be an employer partner working with the City of Detroit to launch another great year of the Grow Detroit's Young Talent (GDYT) program that offers 150 students summer virtual work experiences in high-demand industries.
Special thanks to Akilah Paramore and Casey White in attendance at the press launch event.
